Date of Passing: Mar 30, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES (JIM) CHISHOLM Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jim on March 30, 2011, age 62 years, at the Health Sciences Centre. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Christine Chisholm (nee Gallipeau), brother Tom (Muriel) Chisholm, nieces Lorna Chisholm and Jennifer Chisholm, stepdaughter Lena Cook and stepsons Joshua Cook and Jared (Stacey-Lee) Cook. Jim was predeceased by his parents James (Jimmy) and Elizabeth (Betty) Chisholm. Jim was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Throughout his life he loved to travel and spent time living in London, England, Israel, California, and British Columbia before settling in Manitoba. Among his many affiliations, Jim was active with the Society of Manitobans with Disabilities (SMD), Manitoba Brain Injury Association and the Epilepsy Association of Manitoba. He was also active in the Manitoba Mens Network for many years. However, outside of his family, Jim's greatest pleasure was in his support of Glasgow Rangers and he loved watching them as often as he could as part of the Winnipeg Rangers Supporters Club. Jim spent his final years employed by Manitoba Hydro where he enjoyed the company of some special friends and associates. A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held at Thomson Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. No black or celtic green please. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's memory to Manitoba Brian Injury Association, Society of Manitobans with Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy Association or Epilepsy Manitoba.
