CLEMENT HUGH (MAC) MCINTOSH Peacefully, with family by his side, Clem passed away on March 28, 2011 at Victoria General Hospital. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Lorraine; sons Craig (Lori), Grant and Scott. Proud of his Scottish heritage, he was predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Mary, and sister Phyllis. Clem was born June 7, 1929 in Minnedosa, Manitoba. The family moved to Winnipeg shortly after his birth where he resided for the rest of his days. Over the years, Clem served the public in many capacities, holding various positions of public office. He was employed by the City of Winnipeg for 35 years, retiring as Manager of Claims and Insurance. He served as Counsellor and Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Fort Garry and as Chairman of the Fort Garry School Board. He was President of the Manitoba Association for Children with Learning Disabilities, Vice-Chairman of Victoria General Hospital and Director of Manitoba Health Organization Inc. He acted as President of the Fort Garry Rotary Club and Chairman of the American Transit Association, Claims Attorneys Division. He was also a longstanding member of the Khartum Shrine Drum and Bugle Corps. Following his retirement from the city, Clem worked as Government of Affairs Manager for the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce. Clem had a great appreciation for music and delighted in listening to the albums and CDs he collected over the years. A devoted family man with a terrific sense of humour, he was a fun-loving dad and a wonderful, caring husband. He will be sadly missed. We wish to thank Dr. F. Salem, the nursing staff at Victoria General Hospital and his home care workers for the wonderful care and compassion shown to him during his illness. Cremation has taken place and a private family funeral will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation or a charity of one's choice. THOMSON IN THE PARK 925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
