MARGARET REEKIE (nee PRODUN) With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Margaret Reekie, RN (ret.), who left this world to join with Our Lord in the next, on March 31, 2011. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Michael and Kataryna Produn; her husband, A. James; daughter Coleen; and her brother William. Margaret is survived by her sons, Andrew (Monica) and John (Annie); her granddaughters, Mary-Lou (Eric), Joleen and Tiffany; her sisters, Minnie Dunn, Pearl Jones (Peter) and Judy Kemp (Cyril) and her nieces and nephews. Margaret was born in 1934 in Margo, SK, moved with her family in her youth to Winnipeg, where she graduated as an R.N. in the Misericordia School of Nursing in 1958, subsequently working at Misericordia and at Oakview Extended Care Facility. She married her husband A. James (Jim) in 1959. A service celebrating Margaret's life will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. Also, per Margaret's wishes, we ask that instead of flowers that a donation in Margaret's memory be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We would like at this time to thank the Winnipeg Fire, Police and Ambulance services and the Manitoba Medical Examiner for their actions on Margaret's passing, and especially to the friends she made at the Courts of St. James who made her life so enjoyable after she moved in. Also, thank you to the parish of St. Andrew's Anglican Church who welcomed her with open arms and made her feel she had come home.

  • It is one year since Aunt Marg passed and we remember her dearly. I cherish our trips to the States both years ago and in recent years. I miss her peanut butter cookies and chocolate cake! Aunt Marg had a flair for entertaining that I envy! Remembering you one year later. Love, Kathi and Family - Posted by: Kathi Campbell (Niece) on: Mar 31, 2012
