Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD EDWARD MULVEY May 21, 1935 - April 2, 2011 Peacefully, with his family by his side, Dick left us on April 2, 2011 at the age of 75. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Eleanor; his son Michael (Joanne), daughter Joanne (Rich) and son Shaun (Cherry). Pappy will be greatly missed by his five grandchildren: Aaron, Alyssa, Matthew, Nicholas and Emma. He will also be remembered by many family members and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Mathew and Agnes Mulvey, sister Kathleen Rathwell and her husband Gordon. Dick was born and raised in Winnipeg. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1954, serving for three years as an aircraft technician in Cold Lake, Alberta. After that he worked in the electronics field for several years before joining the CBC as a film editor. Dick's passion in life was his 10-pin bowling. He was an avid bowler in several leagues since 1961 and coached in the junior bowling program. He served on the Winnipeg Bowling Association and in 1981 was made an Honorary Life Member of the WBA. He worked on the Men's Association and the Junior Association Board of Directors for 12 years. He co-founded the Canadian Junior Tenpin Championships and was instrumental in entering the first Manitoba Juniors into the Coca Cola Tournament in the USA. His many years of dedication to the sport led to his induction into the Manitoba Bowling Hall of Fame in 1991 for Meritorious Service. Dick was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and two cats, Rudy and Delilah. He will be remembered and missed for his fun loving spirit and generous heart. The family would like to thank the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or to St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, Attention: Palliative Care, D1003 - 409 Taché Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 6, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road with Father Fred Olds as celebrant.
