Roy is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Laura, son Greg and wife Gail, granddaughters Erica in Winnipeg and Heather and husband Andrew Johnson in Shanghai, China. Roy was predeceased by his parents, William and Anderina, and his brother, Bill. Roy was born June 28, 1917 and lived all his life in Winnipeg. He was employed at CP Rail for 43 years. He was active in establishing the Winnipeg Terminal Credit Union serving as President; was a long term member of St. Paul's, Chalmers and McClure United Churches serving as board member and elder. He also received recognition for his work in the restoration of the Countess of Dufferin. Roy's legacy is the family cottage at Falcon Lake which he spent weekends and holidays lovingly constructing after acquiring the lot in 1957. We have had many happy family times enjoying the lake. Roy was a skilled woodworker. Everything he did was done with great thought and care. He enjoyed gardening, curling, watching sports, and reading. He was a quiet, calm presence in our lives and we will miss him very much. He always put his family first.
