ANHELYNA JAWORSKY (nee BUCHKO) On April 4, 2011, Anhelyna peacefully went to join the Lord. With sorrowful hearts and great love our wife, mother and baba left us. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Osyp. Anhelyna was born December 5, 1923 in East Kildonan, Winnipeg. Her parents were Maria and Michael Buchko. She was the youngest of three sisters, Mary (husband Frank Deely), Katherine (husband Nicholas Storozuk). Anhelyna attended secondary school and College in Winnipeg. She worked for many years in the Administrative Offices of Eaton's Department Store. She took great care of her parents; and it was then that in 1952, she met her future husband Osyp Jaworsky. In 1953 they married and began a great life together. Their life began with travels in America and Canada. Family life blossomed with children Marika (Andrew), Taras (Sally), Myron (Caroline), Chrystyna and Stanley (Jaroslava) Jaworsky. Anhelyna adored her grandchildren Marika (Ian), Alexa and Adriana. Extended family includes Frank Deeley (Helen), Richard Deeley (Joy), Ron Storozuk (Monica), June (Leif) Berg, Marian (Jaroslava) Jaworski, Roman and James Jaworsky, Marika and Richard Majkrzyk; cousins Eva Kissick and family-in-law, Kyrzyk and DeKeyster as well as numerous family in Drohovych, Ukraine. Anhelyna found her happiness in her family. She loved to read all forms of history and current news. She held a strong spiritual faith and values and lived life to the fullest the Ukrainian way - she never missed a day. She loved Ukrainian history and culture and believed in the spirit of an independent Ukraine. Angelina ventured to visit the town of her parents' heritage and then went on to explore Lviv, Kyiv, and Odessa, Ukraine. She was a lifelong member of the Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral. Anhelyna was a talented seamstress and for many years attended to the costumes of the SUM Ukrainian Dance ensembles. Anhelyna doted on her family and especially her grandchildren. At all times she liked to cook traditional Ukrainian dishes and work in her flower garden. Anhelyna is deeply loved and deeply missed by all who know her. Sleep well sweetheart until we meet again. Special thanks to Dr. T. Cavett and the wonderful nurses and staff of Concordia Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pomich Ukraina or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. Prayers will be sung at 8:00 p.m., April 8 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 9, also at the Cathedral with Rt. Rev. • I am so sorry for your loss. Is Osyp alive? He is my father's uncle. I live in the US and would love to get connected with the family. Could you please pass this comment to the kids of Anhelyna and Osyp? Thank you! Best, Irina - Posted by: Irina Webb (cousin) on: Sep 09, 2017
