HELENE LEGER (nee PELLETIER) 1940 - 2011 Helene Leger, surrounded by her husband and children, passed away peacefully at her home in Winnipeg on the morning of April 5, 2011, at 71 years of age, after a courageous battle with cancer. Helene will be greatly missed by her husband of 50 years, Paul, her daughter Germaine, son Marcel (Rhonda) and daughter Monique (Bruce). She will be lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren: Sarah, Nicole, Eric, Tyler, Taylor, Jacques and Annabelle. Helene will be also remembered by her sisters and brothers: Gerard (Ollie) Pelletier, Josee Champagne, Yolande Pelletier (sister-in-law) (Roland predeceased), Ida Rocan, Adelard (Yvonne) Pelletier, Aurore (Marcellin) Boulet, Pierre (Joan) Pelletier, Irene (Donat) Alarie, Paul (Linda) Pelletier, Denis (Pat) Pelletier, Denise (Guy) Manaigre. Helene worked for many years at Canada Safeway and is remembered by her customers and co-workers. She enjoyed volunteering at the Winakwa Community Club, where her children were involved in numerous activities. She cherished many enjoyable moments with family and friends at Austin Lake cottage and at her winter home in Yuma, Arizona. Mom and her family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Dr. Vaudry, Dr. Daenick, Dr. Crawford and the palliative community nurses, especially Norma and Cathy. Mom found great comfort in the home visits made by Fr. Fred Olds. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg MB R3E 9Z9. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette Church, 820 Cottonwood Rd. Interment will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca.
