ALBERTO CARVALHO It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Alberto Carvalho on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Alberto will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Olivia, to whom he was married for 54 years. He also leaves to mourn daughters, Margaret, Ann (Jerry), Matilde (Russell) and son Manuel (Kelly). His grand-children, Michelle, Nicole, Matthew and Laurissa were his pride and joy. He will be especially missed by his mother-in-law Lurdes, brothers, Luis, Manuel, sisters, Maria and Natividade, two brothers-in-law and wives, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Manuel, mother Matilde and brother John. Alberto was born on November 12, 1932 in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel Azores, Portugal. He immigrated to Winnipeg in 1965 and spent most of his working years at Coop Implements as a tool dye maker and machinist. Alberto had many hobbies and interest including being a member of the Knights of Columbus. Prayers will be held on Friday evening, April 8, 2011 and 6:00 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street N. Donations may be made to the Cancer or Autism Society. A Heart of Gold A heart of gold stopped beating Working hands at rest God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best Leaves and flowers may wither The golden sun may set But the hearts that loved you dearly Are the ones that won't forget.
