MAISIE ELIZABETH SIMONS (nee Bentley) Maisie, lifetime resident of West Kildonan, passed away in her 96th year at Luther Home on March 31, 2011. Maisie was predeceased by her husband George in 1983. She was the last surviving member of the Bentley family being predeceased by brothers Fred and William, sisters Betty Melesko and Mabel Bentley. Maisie is survived by son Chuck (Lorraine) and daughter Linda (Bud) Cutler, four grandchildren Jodi (Ron) Gusek, Tanis (Jeff) Blocka, Jennifer Simons (Gary Harbour) and Tyler (Gwen) Simons, and eight great-grandchildren Jamie, Allysa, Aiden, Abbie, Logan, Marley, Emma and Robyn. In her younger years, Maisie was an active member of the ACW of St. Anne's Anglican Church and West Kildonan Chapter #59 of the OES. In her retirement years Maisie enjoyed the activities at Bleak House for Seniors in West Kildonan, many happy hours in her flower garden and with her Belmont Avenue Coffee Klatch'. The family thanks the wonderful staff at Luther Home for their care and loving kindness to her over the past seven years. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Luther Home Chapel, 1081 Andrews Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maisie's memory to: Luther Home, 1081 Andrews St., Winnipeg, MB, R2V 2G9 We are standing upon the seashore. A ship at our side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength and we stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and the sky come to mingle with each other. Then someone at our side says, There! She's gone! Gone from our sight, that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left our side, and she is just as able to bear her load of living weight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in us, not in her. And just at the moment, when someone at our side says, There! She's gone! there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout. There she comes! Rest In Peace Mom CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
