GUY BERUBE Peacefully, on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, Guy passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 80 years Guy was born on October 21, 1930 in St. Boniface. He has several fond memories of growing up as a child and spending many hours with his brothers and sisters. During his adult life, he had several different jobs and found his niche as a driver for Greyhound where he worked for over 30 years. He had an exemplary record as a driver and was asked on occasion to do special assignments for the company. Upon his retirement, he used his skills as a driver and worked as a volunteer for different groups, but in particular for many years as a driver of the official family of the Festival du Voyageur. In the summer, he loved working for Aitkens Lake Fishing Lodge. His easy going personality and relaxed attitude made him a perfect match for these jobs. He also volunteered his time at the 1999 PanAm Games as a driver for the Canadian Olympic Committee and especially at St. Martyrs-Canadiens as an usher. Guy leaves to cherish his wife of 54 years, Eveline, as well as two sons Claude (Christiane) and Hubert (Patti). Also, two sisters Marcelle Forest (Gabriel) and Pierette Patry (Romeo), one brother Gilles (Mary) and a sister-in-law Roseanna. He was predeceased by his father Georges and mother Georgiana and his brother Jean. He also leaves to mourn six grandchildren (Jenna, Stephanie, Evan, Marie-Andree, Simon and Naomie) and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank all the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital, in particular the Family Medicine Unit on the 6th floor and Dr. Melanie St. Hilaire for their comfort and care during his stays at the hospital. A celebration in Guy's memory will be held at St. Martyrs-Canadiens, 289 Dussault Ave. on Monday, April 11 at 10:00 a.m. A reception and interment at the St. Boniface Cemetery will follow. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Guy's name to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. • We are very sad to hear of the loss of such a wonderful person. While living in Windsor Park we were happy to know the family through hockey. We have some wonderful memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. - Posted by: Ken/Eileen Asselstine (Friend) on: Apr 10, 2011
