Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJULIA THORBJORG ISLEIFSON Peacefully on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 12:10 p.m., Julia passed away with family by her side at Charleswood Care Centre. Predeceased by her parents, Osk and Thorsteinn Isleifson, as well as her brother Barney who was killed in the Second World War - Caen, France; sisters, Emily and Lorraine. Survived by sister Anne, brothers, John, Cecil, Murray and Allan as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. Julia was born in Glenboro, Manitoba, educated at Cypress River, Frey School and Glenboro High School. After one year of teaching and completing the Nancy Taylor, Charm and Finishing Course, she went on to a long career at Canadian Wheat Board in Winnipeg. In her retirement, Julia continued to learn, taking numerous courses at the University of Winnipeg. Her hobbies included, photography and traveling, symphony and the arts as well as walking with the Strollers Club. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor Street with Pastor Michael Kurtz officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. The family would like to thank the staff at Charleswood Care Centre for their care and compassion. Memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Manitoba Lung Association.
