Dad was at his best until the end and his sense of humour eased his passing. Dad was born and raised in St. Elizabeth, Manitoba. He was a farmer and then formed W H Unruh Builders in 1970 which he and Mom operated until they retired. Dad's passion was his home at Lake of the Woods which he built and lovingly maintained throughout his retirement. Dad loved curling and enjoyed critiquing games on TV with the sound off and gave his own unique commentary on how he saw the game. In his youth he was a pretty good baseball player and enjoyed music a passion that lasted a lifetime. He loved to sing and was a member of the occasional choir at First Mennonite Church of which he was a member for over 50 years. Dad is survived by Helen his wife of 56 years, his daughter Cynthia Johnson and husband Wayne, grandson Justin and wife Kasia, son Karl and wife Svetlana, grand-daughters Elisa and Christina. Dad was predeceased by his brother Henry and survived by brother Hugo and sisters Ellie Kathler and Maggie Martens.
