CASIMIR (CASEY) BERNARD BIEDRON It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Casimir (Casey) Bernard Biedron on April 4, 2011 with family by his side. Dad was born and raised in Cooks Creek, MB after which he moved to Winnipeg. Left to cherish dad's memories are his children Richard (Tina), Bobbi (Fred), Robin (Mike) and Rachelle (Joe); grandchildren Randy (Shauna), Susan, Kara (Nathan), Scott, Samantha and James; great-grandchildren, Andy, Kara Lee, Zack. Dad also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dad is survived by his sister Frances of Montreal. Dad was predeceased by his loving wife Jean, parents John and Ksenia; sisters Mary, Louise, Katie, Stella, Jean; brothers Joe, Henry, Edward and his grandson Matthew. Dad was a very loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who always put his family first. Dad was a jack of all trades - Casey can fix it . He was an artist, poet, carpenter, and self taught musician. He loved to tinker with old cars and almost anything else. He attended church and missed attending when his health was failing. When the children were younger, dad enjoyed taking the family on numerous trips either out east or day trips visiting family, attending outdoor country music gatherings, barbeques or just to spend a day at the beach. Dad was enlisted in the army for a brief time. In 1953 he assisted in building the Winnipeg Arena and later worked there from 1955 to 1988. It was a sad day as dad stood and watched the arena being imploded. Dad and Mom travelled many places through their years together including Hawaii, Mexico, Florida, Las Vegas, New Orleans and several places in Canada. They also spent summers at the trailer in Kenbro Park for over 30 years where many happy times and friendships were made. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses, home care workers, and health care aides at Transcona Medical, Concordia, St. Boniface, Seven Oaks and Victoria General Hospitals and Golden Door Geriatric Centre for all their kindness and compassion shown towards our father. A special thank you to Rev. Jeff Cook and Rev. Carol Fletcher for your support and kindness shown towards our father and family. Dear Dad, we love and miss you very much. We will miss your sense of humour, your helping hand, your kindness and most of all your smile. May you now rest in peace with your beloved wife Jean. You'll remain in our hearts forever. Prayers will be offered on Sunday, April 10, 2011, 7:00 p.m., at Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day Street, Winnipeg MB. Funeral service will be on Monday, April 11, 2011, 11:00 a.m. at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Avenue West, Winnipeg, MB, with Rev. Jeff Cook and Rev. Carol Fletcher officiating.
