BRIAN FREDERICK GEORGE EDWARD DEAN Gently embraced by his loving family, Brian entered eternal peace after a lengthy illness, which he endured with incredible tenacity. Brian had such an uplifting attitude and humour, which gave him strength to face his illness with such dignity and grace. Brian passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Riverview Health Centre. Brian was predeceased by his mother Edith in England, father Alfred and step-mother Margaret. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 47 years Madeleine (nee Johnson), his children: Michael (Stav); grandchildren: Nicole and Brian; Robin (Norm), grandsons: Julien and Noah; Shawn (Sherri), granddaughter Katrina; as well as his brothers Bill (Elisabeth) and Bob (Val); his sister Sylvia (Roy); his uncle and aunt Don and Grace and extended family. Brian was born on January 5, 1936, in Orsett, England and came to Canada in 1946 on an aircraft carrier. After completing his schooling on Vancouver Island he joined the RCAF, worked at Bristol Aerospace and retired from Manitoba Hydro after 30 years of service. Brian was a very proud father, grandfather and always put his family first. He had a terrific sense of humour and enjoyed a really good laugh. He was very handy and loved gardening. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting and loved animals especially Buster and Oreo. He was quite involved in the Lord Roberts Wildlife Association and also volunteered with driving the bus for Riverview Health Center. His summers spent at Winnipeg Beach brought him many years of happiness. Should friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the lift fund at Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Drive, Winnipeg, MB R2J 1C7 or to a charity of one's choice. In keeping with Brian's wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held on Friday, April 15 at 3:30 p.m. in Windsor Park United Church, 1062 Autumnwood Drive, with reception to follow. Good-bye my family, my life has passed, I loved you all to the very last. Weep not for me, but courage take, Love for each other, for my sake. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My deepest sympathies to your family. I know it has been just over a year since Brian's passing but in my search for Robin I found his obituary. I have been looking on the internet for Robin for several years but did not know her married name and your address from when I was a kid and visited is no longer yours. I am saddened that it was Brian's obituary that has led me to you again but I guess it was he who brought the family to Killarney Lake all those (about 40) years ago that brought us together as friends back then too. I am so very sorry for your loss. I hope you can contact me Robin at the information I have left with this note. Take care. - Posted by: Robin Lobreau (Lockhart) (I knew Robin as a kid) on: Apr 24, 2012
