Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY (MAY) COLLINS (nee GRANT) Peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, Mary passed away with her family by her side at the Johnson Memorial Hospital. Mom was born June 16, 1930. After a happy childhood in Winnipeg's North End she met Cal, the love of her life, and was married August 14, 1950. They raised their three children, Karen, Grant and Robert, in East Kildonan. Mom and Dad's love and devotion lasted 29 years until Dad's passing. Several years later, she moved to Gimli where she enjoyed many happy years with friends and family. She was a loving, dedicated mother and wife, and her grand-children were her pride and joy. She leaves to mourn her passing, sister Kay Grant; sister-in-law Margaret Grant; daughter Karen (Grant) Hemmerling; and sons, Grant (Pam) Collins and Robert (Patrizia) Collins. She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Daniel (Kathy) Hemmerling, great-grandchild Michael Hemmerling, grandson Richard Hemmerling and his fiancé Tara Mueller, granddaughters: Gennifer, Gwendolyn and Genevieve Collins. Mom will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by parents, William and Mary Grant; brothers, James and John Grant; sisters, Ina Stevenson and Nan Smith; as well as her dear friend Neil Taschuk. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the homecare professionals, as well as hospital staff of Johnson Memorial Hospital for the compassionate care and respect shown to our Mom. A celebration of life will take place on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Johnson Memorial Hospital in Gimli.
