DOROTHY CAROLYNE GRYTE July 3, 1933 - April 13, 2011 Peacefully, after a brief battle with cancer, but as always on her terms, our beloved Mom made her transition from this life to the next. Left to celebrate all that she was is her beloved sister, Stephanie Berntzen, daughters Kimberley Moore (Fred), Kate Gameiro (Carlos) and the absolute loves of her life, her grandchildren Arden, Chas, Kes and Braeley, who brought her more joy than they will ever know. Memories of Auntie Dot will be cherished by her many nieces and nephews, to many of whom she was a second Mom. Mom was predeceased by our Dad, Norman, infant son Kurt, and many treasured friends and family who have already welcomed her home. A trailblazer for her generation, Mom enjoyed a lengthy career in banking, where she made many lifelong friends. Her exceptional creative talent with a sewing machine saw many a wedding dress, bridesmaid dress, silly tie, baby doll and jammies made for those she loved. We will cherish these gifts even more. A celebration of Mom's life will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. with Rev. Don McIntyre officiating. Should friends desire, donations may be made to Quagga Stray Cat Rescue, or Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation. Shed a tear because she is gone, but please also smile because she has lived.
