IRENE ELIZABETH GAGNON (nee ARCHAMBAULT) Peacefully with her family by her side, Irene Elizabeth Gagnon passed away at the age of 81 years on April 15, 2011. Irene will be sadly missed by her children, Lorraine Joyal; Maurice (Pam) of Calgary; George; Lucille (Roger) Joyal; Denis (Laurie); Diane (Rob); Louis (Lorna); Claude (Juliet); and 24 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Lucille and Anna; son, Paul; Marcel Gagnon and parents Laura (Saindon) and Armand. Irene was born on November 12, 1929 in Thibaultville (Richer), Manitoba. She worked for a number of years in the service and hospitality industry. Irene loved to do crafts and at one time she owned a craft shop. She had many pets during her life. Irene loved animals, listening to country music, cooking and watching cooking shows on television. She also enjoyed watching wrestling with her sons. Of utmost importance to her, was her family and friends. Bringing her family together for a gathering gave her the most joy. The family would like to thank the Winnipeg Paramedics and nurses at Victoria Hospital for their dedicated care. Donations in Irene's memory may be made to D'Arcy's A.R.C. (Animal Rescue Centre). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Mother, we will always love and miss you.
