DAVID ANTONCHUK September 11, 1949 April 14, 2011 On April 14, 2011 after a brief bout with cancer our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, friend was called home. David was born September 11, 1949 to Hnat and Nellie Antonchuk in Benito, Mb. He grew up on a farmstead in Cowan, MB. He started his education in Cowan, then moved on to Minitonas and later finishing his education at Notre Dame in Wilcox, Sk. After his schooling David met the love of his life Judy Robb. They were married November 27, 1971 in Minitonas, MB. From there they moved to Winnipeg, where David worked for the Government of Manitoba up until his illness. David has always been an active member in the community, coaching and playing baseball with his children, curling, golfing, and being an active member in the Canadian Polish Athletic Club. In August 1993, David and Judy bought their dream home, where David took pride in having one of the nicest yards on the block. Over the past few years David has taken time to relax, going to Gull Lake every spring, going on fly-in fishing trips to Gammon River with Judy in the summer and taking exotic vacations in the winter. David was predeceased by his mother, Nellie, on January 21, 1998, mother-in-law Effie Robb on February 2, 2011 and brother-in-law Cameron Robb on December 27, 2010. David will live on in the memories of his wife of 39 years, Judy (nee Robb); his children Corry Moroz (Keith), Jodie Antonchuk Nagy (Kevin) and Rob Antonchuk (Karen). His grandchildren Taylor, Montana, Conner, Colby, Trey and David (due August); his father Hnat Antonchuk; sister Nadine Horsman (Terry); brothers, Richard Antonchuk (Bev) and Ernie Antonchuk (Jan); brothers-in-law Bill Robb (Shelby) and Keith Robb; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the St. Boniface Hospital for their compassion and genuine support. Cremation has taken place at David's request. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Green Acres Funeral Home located at Hwy. #1 at Navin Road.
