EDNA DORIS FAUTEUX-SCOTT (nee Cory) Peacefully and with great sadness, we lost our dearest Mother Edna Doris Fauteux-Scott on Friday, April, 15, 2011 at the age of 74. On this day God cried as he beautified Winnipeg with fresh snow. Born in Winnipeg, MB on July 23, 1936, she was predeceased by her parents Willis Leigh Cory who served with honour in the Second World War, mother Anne Louise Cory (nee King); her husband Ronald Ralph Fauteux-Scott; best friend Clarence (Larry) Matthews. Before Edna was married, she worked as a hairstylist. After her marriage to Ronald she became a fulltime Mom to her six children and worked at Salisbury House. She will be greatly missed by her children Murray, Dawn (Tim), Melody, Sandra (John), David and Sean, her grandchildren Joshua and Kaitlyn, the Tonnellier family and her brother Charles (Bud) Leigh Cory of Victoria, BC. Mom had an unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, family and friends. Edna was a very kind generous spiritual person, with a great sense of humour and very active in her church. She also had a great love for reading, the arts, music, movies and the Lord Jesus Christ whom she is with now. You were strong, You gave us love. You made us stronger, You gave us love. We became peaceful. You mom are now at peace, God blessed us with the love and kindness you gave us. We all love and miss you. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Waves of Glory Church, 364 Furby St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association and the Burn Ward at the Health Sciences Centre.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I remember she was proud of my sister's, brother's and my accomplishments - getting the job, graduating from high school, college. She offered a phrase to not rest on your laurels. Her celebratory phrase was always the sweet, calm happiness of "not bad, not bad at all". - Posted by: Melody (Fauteux-Scott) on: Aug 21, 2021

  • Edna was a creative and spiritual woman. She appreciated beauty, and cultivated it. God bless and comfort her family. - Posted by: Vicki Rempel (friend) on: Mar 25, 2012

  • The Wu family from Vancouver would like to extend their condolences to the family. Edna was a very special person, she always had a smile and had lots of great stories to tell during our summer night gatherings. She will be greatly remembered. May she rest in peace. - Posted by: Hilda Wu (Friend) on: Apr 22, 2011
