Hilde is cherished and lovingly remembered by her sisters Elli (Ralph), Martha, Helene; niece Heidi (Mario), nephew Herbert (Margaret), great-nieces Tanya (Ian), Sherri-lynn (Mike); great-nephew Kevin, great-great-nephews Hunter and Owen; great-great-niece Mikayla and many of her extended family in both Canada and Germany. Hilde was predeceased by her parents and husband Anton. Hilde's love was that of her family which she held so dear to her heart. Always giving so much, yet demanding so little. Always loving and always loved, shining especially bright with her little ones in sight. Hilde spent much of her time cooking and baking her specialities which included her famous perogies, rum and butter kuchen and potato pancakes. She enjoyed taking in the fresh air with her dog Snuggles, walking through the garden, tending to her flowers and vegetables and mushroom picking in her secret spots in Southeastern Manitoba. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, April 21 2011 at 10:00 a.m. (with a viewing at 9:30 a.m.) at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens led by pallbearers Ian, Richard, Bruno, Julius, Jordan and Branko. A gathering of family and friends will take place in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. Donations in Hilde's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or Luther Home, 1081 Andrews St., Winnipeg. A special thank you to all staff and caregivers of Luther Home for their compassion towards Hilde these last few years; to the residents who loved her dearly; and to Hanny for all the spiritual care she had given her.
