Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN A. (JACK) MARSHALL It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John Marshall born June 18, 1924, passed away April 15, 2011. John was predeceased by his first wife Margaret, his parents, two brothers and two sisters. He was a long time resident of Wildwood Park. John leaves to mourn his passing, his beloved wife Betty; his children, James E. Marshall (Barbara) their children Kim, Mari-Anne (two great-grandsons) Lisa and James Jr., Carol Ann (Marshall) Hunt (Don) their family, Steven, Lindsay, Melanie, Tristan, and Leslie; John's sister-in-law Pat Fonseca and the Fonseca family. John was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a fit and healthy man all of his life until his last illness. John was proud of his service in the Royal Canadian Navy and served on a mine sweeper on the west coast. One of John's greatest joys and happiness was found at his lake front cottage at Ingolf ON, where he had many good friends with the Lake People whose lives he shared. Being a gentle man, courteous and friendly he enjoyed his carving and playing the piano. John is survived by his step children, part of Betty's family, who loved him Darlene Baggott, Barbara (Randy) Tanner, their family Amanda Angela, Cory and Charlene and their children Sandra Oleski, her sons Jeremy (Candace) their children and Jason. John and Betty were blessed with the love of the Collins family who shared many occasions with them, Tom Collins, Cathie and Don Champagne, Rick and Ken Langlotz, their children and grandchildren. John held a variety of positions during his life. He worked at the old bus depot and it never left him as he could name all the towns on any route. He could recite from memory passages from some Shakespearean plays. He finished his working life and retired from Weyerhaeuser. We wish to Thank the physicians, nurses and staff of the St. Boniface Hospital Wards A7W and A7S, also the Victoria Hospital for their care. The service for John will be held on Thursday, April 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the Fort Garry United Church, 800 Point Road. Reverend Dr. Gordon Taylor officiating. A reception will follow at the Fort Garry RC Legion, 1125 Pembina Hwy. at Pembina and Windermere, where John was a member for fifty years. Interment will take place at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. If you wish, make a donation to a charity of your choice. Jack Thank you for your love, kindness and wisdom. You will be dearly missed.
