HILDA ELIZABETH TOWSLEY (nee HENRY) 1924 - 2011 Peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Hilda Towsley aged 86 years passed away. Hilda was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Henry of Old Kildonan. She was raised and educated in Winnipeg. She had a long and successful career as an X-Ray Technician at the Winnipeg Clinic. On October 14, 1961, Hilda married Don Towsley and they spent their whole life in St. James and at their cottage at Jessica Lake. Don and Hilda both enjoyed watching and feeding the birds. They also taught many of their nieces and nephews and friends to water ski and just enjoy the outdoors. In their retirement they spent many winters in Florida. Don passed away on November 9, 2006. Hilda had lived at Tabor Home in Morden for the past two and a half years where the excellent staff have been very kind, caring and patient with her. Hilda and her family appreciated the care given to her. A very SPECIAL THANK YOU to the care companions that visited and helped Hilda with her meals. She was also predeceased by her sister, Edith and brothers, John, Mark and Harry, her niece, Joan Mantle and nephews, Donald Noble and Tom Lone. Hilda is survived by her two sisters, Jean McCort of Winnipeg and Audrey Lone of Morden as well as nieces, Elizabeth Henry, Deborah (Brian) Sellar, Lesley Henry of Richmond, ON, Gail Maxwell of Morden; and nephews, Dr. Wm. (Bill) and Elizabeth Noble of Mississauga, ON, John Henry of Napeon, ON and Bill Lone (Pam Maxwell) of Morden. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Wiebe Funeral Chapel, 1050 Thornhill St. in Morden with Morris Vincent officiating. Ash interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hilda's memory to Tabor Home Memorial Fund, 230 9th St. South, Morden, MB R6M 1Y3.
