ALLAN E. TYMCHAK Late of Ottawa, ON, Allan Tymchak was born in Winnipeg on October 16, 1925 to Michael and Teklia Tymchak. He was predeceased by his parents and two of his brothers, Zane (MD) and Joseph. Allan is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Teklia, and by his sister Elsie, who was a public health nurse for many years in the city. Allan grew up and took his schooling in Winnipeg, where his family lived on Pritchard Avenue, not far from Arlington Street. He later went to the University of Manitoba where he studied Chemistry (M.Sc.) before moving to Ottawa to take a position with Agriculture Canada. He eventually became an entomologist responsible for examining fruit and vegetable imports. Allan developed an extensive collection of insects from around the world. He retired in 1988, and received a medal for his 35 years of distinguished service with the Government of Canada. Allan and his wife Teklia settled on an acreage in North Gower, ON, just outside Ottawa which they developed into a wooded, garden refuge that they enjoyed for over 40 years. Allan was much beloved by his nieces and nephews who now live in many parts of Canada: Patricia, Doreen, Joseph and Timothy of Winnipeg; Michael (Beryl) of Regina, SK; Sandra (Garry) of Vancouver, BC; Dianne (Maurice) of North Battleford, SK; and Zane Jr. MD (Barb) of Saskatoon, SK. For those who are left to grieve, Allan recalls the memory of a very resourceful, capable, kind and intelligent man whose smile and zest for life brought joy and great pleasure to others. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 27 at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Watt Street at Munroe Avenue with Fr. M. Kwiatkowski officiating. Viewing will take place one-half hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Holy Family Cemetery. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
