MARION EILEEN MCCULLOCH Peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 with her family by her side, Marion Eileen McCulloch left this world. Left to cherish Marion's memory is her son David (Sally); daughter Nancy (Charles); son Dean (Laurel); son-in-law Murray; grand-children Sarah (Allan), Cara, Karla (Steve), Dave Jr., and Michael; great-grandchildren Noah, Sophie and Dante; sisters Doreen and Muriel; sister-in-law June (Keith); brother-in-law Jim; sister-in-law Anne; as well as many other cherished family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Dave and daughter Bonnie. Gran was born January 29, 1928 in Teulon, MB and grew up on a farm in Inwood, Manitoba. Even in her later years, she fondly and often remembered the simpler times spent with her brothers and sisters and was very proud of her Swedish heritage. It was when she started working in Winnipeg at The Modern Laundry that she met and fell in love with Dave. They married in 1948 and started a family shortly after. They put down roots in St. James where they lived their entire lives, mostly on Wallasey where they made lifelong friendships, including the notorious Wallasey Street Gang. Gran was the kindest, most generous and easy-going person. She loved her family so much and truly cherished every moment spent with them. Some of the best times of her life were spent taking long country drives with Dave, travelling, family BBQs, knitting, gardening and bird-watching. Gran was so easy-going that she often replied I'd go to a dog fight when given the opportunity to go out. She was always up for anything as long as it included family, friends and lots of laughter. She was the glue that held our family together and will be sorely missed. On Monday, April 25, 2011 a Celebration of Marion's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Sturgeon Creek United Church, 207 Thompson Dr., Winnipeg. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Grace and St. Boniface Hospitals for their kind and dedicated care. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Marion's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. Some People Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whispers of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for a while, leave footprints in our hearts and we are never ever the same. Goodbye GiGi You'll always be loved and remembered.
