SYLVIA ANNE RYAN Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, our Lord took our dear wife, mother, daughter and baba home on Monday, April 18, 2011. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Joe, her son Jason and wife Charlene, her grandsons Aaron (special friend Chantal), Joshua and Daniel Weidner. She is also survived by her loving mother Anne Kotak, her sisters Delores Puchailo (David) and Linda Anderson (Jim) and including her close niece Lisa Luky and nephew Charlie. Also brother-in-law Ken Ryan and sister-in-law Joan Rosby. Sylvia was born in Grandview, Manitoba on June 27, 1945 to Paul and Anne Kotak. After school she moved to Winnipeg where she worked and met her husband Joe. She continued to work and retired after working many years at Winnipeg Transit. Sylvia and Joe spent many years volunteering at different nursing homes and organizations. She loved to camp and fish and to spend time with her friends and family, especially her grandsons. On April 16 she celebrated 45 years of marriage with her loving husband Joe. Family was very important to her, but she will mostly be remembered by all as a woman who took the time to share her love and words of wisdom to others. She was always full of hugs for everyone who needed one. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 28 at 1:00 p.m. in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue West in Winnipeg. We wish to express our thanks to the staff of Concordia Hospital, 3rd Floor East ward and Grace Hospice, who showed such love and care to Sylvia during her last months, as a family we are very proud of our medical caregivers. If friends so desire, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to Winnipeg Harvest, in lieu of flowers. Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
