LAWRENCE WAYNE DIXON It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Dixon on April 19, 2011 at the age of 66. Left to mourn are his sister Valerie (David) Conley, niece Jennifer (Marc), nephew Andrew (Sarah and their son Logan). Wayne was predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Margaret. Wayne worked for many years at WASO in the hardware packaging group at Palliser's Transcona plant. In the last few years he worked at the WASO location on McLeod and volunteered in the community. He particularly enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels. If you knew Wayne you know he loved trains. Many vacations were spent travelling to train museums in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and the US. In 2007 he was thrilled to be on board the CPR Empress (steam locomotive #2816) on a trip from Emerson to Winnipeg. The Prairie Dog Central excursions were a favourite and especially fun when the train was robbed by a group of outlaws. The family wishes to thank the Menno Bay staff from DASCH, the nurses at Concordia Oncology Department, the nurses and staff at Concordia Hospital and Riverview Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and compassion. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wayne's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. Online condolences may be offered at www.chapellawn.mb.ca
