Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD A. (DICK) PETERS February 26, 1928 - March 30, 2011 Richard A. (Dick) Peters was a Lieutenant in the Fleet Air Arm, Royal Navy (retired). Dick was both a pilot and a flying instructor. In Canada he flew for: Victoria Flying Club, Okanagan Helicopters, Autair Helicopters Ltd., Midwest Aviation, Winnipeg Flying Club, Klondike Helicopters and Tintina Air Services (founder and president). Later in life Dick was an Inspector with Transport Canada, followed by Chairman, the Canadian Federal Pilots' Association. Born February 26, 1928 in Alexandria, Egypt, Dick died in the Saanich Peninsula Hospital, Vancouver Island on the morning of March 30. Do not be sad for him, he had an incredible life. He did it all: aircraft carriers; deck landings; Korea; survival in the jungle; survival in the Arctic; and the wine bars of the Mediterranean. You name it, he did it; from the manicured lawns of Buckingham Palace to the ice-flows of the Far North. Dick is survived by his wife Pauline, his children: Sara, husband Michael Deacon; Garnon Peters and his wife Isabelle; Louise Peters and her partner John Herbert; Karina and her husband Randal Guy; grandchildren: Matthew and Joshua Deacon; Brendan and Connor Guy; Cameron and Dylan Jane Peters. With heartfelt thanks to Dr. Paul Keith; and the Staff in the ECU at Saanich Peninsula Hospital, who cared for Dick with such sympathy, patience, and understanding. We are all the wind beneath his wings as he flies once more, free at last!
