HELEN BILAWCHUK It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on April 22, 2011 at the age of 93 years. Helen will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children: daughters: Elsie (Jarvis) Korchak and Joyce (Anthony) Drewniak; sons: John (Leona), Willie (Lyn); son-in- law: Peter Jaman, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Mike; daughter Mary Jaman; great-grandson Brett Yasinsky; parents, Metro and Maria Cherewayko; two sisters: Rose Pelland, Veronica Naturkach; three brothers: Bill, Pete and George Cherewayko. Mother was born in Sirko, Manitoba on December 2, 1917. In 1936 she married Mike and they farmed and lived their whole lives in Arbakka. Later she moved to Shady Oaks Lodge in Vita, Manitoba and in 2009 she moved to Holy Family Nursing Home in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mom had a great love for family and the simple pleasures of life, i.e. gardening, baking, cooking and enjoying the company of neighbours and friends. Special thanks are extended to the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate and the wonderful staff on St Paul's Ward of the Holy Family Nursing Home for their tender care, compassion, prayers, patience and under-standing during her residency. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 1500 Day Street with Fr. Bill Wasyliw officiating.
