CAROL ACHTEMICHUK It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Carol Achtemichuk, on April 25, 2011. Mom was born in Gerald, Saskatchewan on September 6, 1936 and married Alex, settling into the Stonewall area. Loyalty was one of Mom's greatest strengths. She was committed to her family and her employer, Atomic Transport, where she played a key accounting role for over 30 years as well as a strong volunteer and supporter of the Catholic Church. The family's huge vegetable garden was Mom's greatest passion and she typically could be found planting her seeds every May long weekend, weather permitting. Weekends were spent in her kitchen baking her amazing fresh breads and pastries with family, friends and next door neighbours stopping by to sample her treats. Her love and devotion to her grandchildren and the newest additions of great-grandchildren was her second greatest passion and became her focus upon Mom and Dad's relocation to Lions' Manor. Mom will be greatly missed by all. She was married to Dad for over 50 years and with his passing in January 2010, she was specially loved and supported by her twins Don (Wendy) and Linda (Larry), and Bernice (Phil), grandchildren Ryan (Ashley), Dale (Ashley), Tegan, Jamie, Kevin, Lindsey, and great-grandbabies Whitley and Carter. Funeral service to be held Friday, April 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, Stonewall, Manitoba. Honorary pallbearers: grandchildren Ryan, Dale, Tegan, Jamie, Kevin and Lindsey. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests the consideration of donations to CancerCare Manitoba or The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
