Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRACE CATHCART 1921 - 2011 It is with great sadness that the family of Grace Cathcart wishes to announce her passing at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, MB on Thursday, April 28, 2011. Grace was predeceased by her husband Frederick; her brother James Newby; and her parents, Margaret and Frederick Newby. She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia (Grant) Johnson of Calgary and Brenda (Cam) Marchbank of Ottawa; grandchildren, Kevin Johnson and Cathy (Eric) Abulnar of Calgary. Grace was born in Winnipeg and throughout her life she was actively involved in her church (Salvation Army and Regent's Park United Church) and the community. Music was a particular joy to her and she sang for many years in church choirs and the Sweet Adelines Chorus. Grace was also a member of the Regent's Park United Church Women's Group. Her beautiful handmade knitwear and crocheted children's toys were donated to St. Amant and the Stella Mission. Grace loved her family unconditionally, extended gracious hospitality to family and friends and showed kindness and generosity to all. The family wishes to offer sincere thanks to the staff of the Emergency Room and the team of nurses and doctors of the 5th floor Cardiac Unit of the St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Road United Church, 613 St. Mary's Road followed by the Interment at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., with reception to follow at St. Mary's Road United Church.
