Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN ERNEST CHOLAKIS 1925 - 2011 John was born March 29, 1925 and passed away on April 15, 2011 at the Victoria General Hospital at the age of 86 years. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Lynne, her two children Tim (Jennifer), Anne-Marie (Tim), his children Ty (Arlene), Stephen (Carolyne), Tom, Marcia (Dave) and Elaine-Stefphany (Michelle), grandchildren Nicholas, Emily, Ryan and Rhys. In addition, his brothers: Paul (Cathy), Leo (Francis) and numerous nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his father Ernest, his mother Helen and his brothers Chris and Harry. John spent his entire life living in Winnipeg, where he grew up in Norwood and attended St. Paul's High School. He worked in the family business; Broadway Florists until his retirement. He managed the family greenhouses on Albany Street, in St. James and worked in his later years at various Broadway Florists outlets at Polo Park, The Bay Downtown and at Kildonan Place. John was an active member of many service clubs such as the St. James Rotary Club. It was through his work and associations that John was well known in the community. John met his wife Lynne 12 years ago and together they shared many fond memories and adventures. They had the opportunity to travel and spend winters on the coast in Victoria as well as many ventures to the United States. John and Lynne were a true partnership and greatly enjoyed time spent with their family and many friends. The family would like to thank the Victoria General Hospital for their compassionate care. To the greatest man on earth, MY DAD! Dear dad, firstly, I loved and love you from the day I was born to eternity. You shaped me into the person I am today and I'm very grateful to you. You raised me to be honest, loving, caring, kind, hard working, respectful to mankind, happy, funny and wise. We shared 50 years together and at anytime our love for each other was always there, no matter what.
