EILEEN (BUNNY) RUTH SHAW (nee WATTERSON) October 23, 1925 - March 22, 2011 It is with profound sadness and treasured memories that the family of Eileen Bunny Shaw announces her passing at the Evergreen Extended Care Unit in Powell River, BC. Predeceased by her beloved husband Roland Shaw, of 59 years. Dearest Mother of Cheryl Shaw, Candice Lewis and her husband Greg. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Ella Watterson. Eileen was born in Winnipeg, MB and grew up on her family farm near Carberry, MB. As a young woman, Eileen moved to Winnipeg and met and married Roland in 1951. Their first daughter, Cheryl was born in 1952, and Candice was born in 1966. Eileen was a homemaker, lovingly looking after her family throughout those years. In 1973, Roland and Eileen fulfilled their lifelong dream, purchasing Shaw's Solo Store in McCreary. Eileen and Roland worked side by side in the store for 17 years. She also served the Hospital Auxiliary in McCreary for many years. For the past 20 years, Rolly and Eileen enjoyed their retirement in Powell River, BC. A joint Celebration of Life will be held for Eileen and Roland at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Eileen's name to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
