VERNA MARILYN NEUFELD May 31, 1941 - April 27, 2011 Peacefully, with courage and dignity, our precious wife, mom, grandma and nana slipped away on April 27, 2011, at the Morris Hospital. She was surrounded by the love of her family and friends throughout her struggle. Mom was predeceased by her mom Helen in January of 2003 and her dad Peter in March of 1980. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her family: her husband, Edwin, of almost 51 years; Jorlene (Todd), Denise (Ray), and Bryan (Barb); grandchildren Tamara (Rob), Derek (Richelle), Chris (Natalie), Tyrone, and Skyler; and great-grandchildren Olivia, Ben, Zeila, and Maverick. She will also be missed dearly by her three sisters, two brothers and their families, numerous relatives, and a host of friends. Family was everything to her. She was a strong and brave woman who faced her challenges with a spiritual calmness. She lived by the motto, One day at a time . She loved her garden and took great pride in her home and flowers. Mom was a social butterfly with a large circle of friends. Whenever there was volunteering to be done, she was there. You couldn't ask for a better role model. In good times, in bad times, I'll be by your side forevermore ... that's what family is for. The family would like to thank Mom's family and friends for their visits, cards, prayers and support during this incredible journey. We would also like to thank Dr. Ann Loewen, Dr. Cornie Woelk, Palliative Care nurse Dana, and Home Care Coordinator Elva who helped us make her journey smoother. A celebration of her life will be held in Morris at the Southern Manitoba Convention Centre, Stampede Grounds, on Tuesday, May 3 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at the Lowe Farm Cemetery to follow.
