ANA DOS ANJOS ARRUDA After a courageous battle with cancer, Ana dos Anjos Arruda, aged 85 years, passed away gracefully and peacefully with her loving family by her side on April 29, 2011. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Armenio Benevides. Ana will forever be remembered by her brother Urbano (Teresa) of BC; and her children, Filipe (Gabriela) of Açores, Portugal, Mario Jorge (Rosa), Maria Manuela (Joao), Ana (the late Dinis) and 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by her large extended family and many friends. Ana was born on July 20, 1925 in Arrifes, Açores, Portugal and she immigrated to Winnipeg in 1991. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, as well as CancerCare Manitoba for their dedication, patience and prayers. Prayers will be said on Monday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H. on Tuesday, May 3 at 10:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue West. The family also asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made directly to CancerCare Manitoba. Until we meet again, beloved Mother, may God hold you in the palm of His hands.
