STANLEY RAYSON Passed away at the Carberry Health Centre on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the age of 100 years, Stanley Rayson, formerly of Treherne, MB. Stan was born June 19, 1910 at Somerset, Manitoba to Alan and Edith (Brewer) Rayson was the eldest of three children (Stanley, Ivy, Henry). He is survived by four nieces Ellen Korzeniowski, Kathy Wood, Dona Smart, Vicki Rayson and Evelyn's children and their extended families. Stan was predeceased by his wife Evelyn on August 19, 1991, his sister Ivy, brother Henry and by two nephews Edward and John Booth. Stan joined the armed forces on December 19, 1941. He trained in Winnipeg and Shilo, and in 1943 he headed to Halifax and sailed for England. He also served in France and in Hague, Holland. He sailed home to Halifax in November 1945, and took the train to Winnipeg. He was wounded twice, once in the foot and in the leg. In 1946 he was discharged. Stan married Evelyn Clemis on April 17, 1974. Evelyn had four children from a previous marriage Pearl, Lorne, Donald and Eddie. Stanley was a dedicated and faithful member of the Legion. It was his life. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday May 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Barnabas Cemetery, Somerset MB.
