ALBERT JOSEPH CORDILEONE March 17, 1927 April 30, 2011 After a very brief illness we are saddened to announce the sudden passing of our husband, father and grandfather Albert Cordileone on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Health Sciences Centre. Dad's legacy lives on in his family with his wife Ruth of 48 years of marriage; children and grandchildren Mark and Cathy (Andrew), Lisa and Bert Snider (Dayson and Jeremy), Marlene and Ed Collom (Hailey and Lauren); sister and brother-in-law Josephine and Henry Dellapenta; sister-in-law Evelyn Landen; as well as numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins. He predeceased by his parents Geremino (Jim) and Alfonsina Cordileone and sister Theresa Anderson. Always known as Bert, Dad lived all of his life in Winnipeg. He was employed by C.N.R. (Transcona Shops) as a Carman for 39 years taking early retirement in 1983. He loved the times spent at the cottage in Ponemah where he enjoyed the fresh beach air, the cold well water and the company of friends and neighbours. Dad's favourite times were spent with his family. He loved having them around and always took special interest in their lives always asking So what's new or What do you have to tell me or If I were you..... . We could always count on him to be there to listen and to offer guidance. Dad enjoyed the Winnipeg Free Press which he read from cover to cover always keeping abreast of current affairs. He enjoyed the Second World War documentaries and discussing Canadian politics. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Thursday, May 5 at 10 a.m. in Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Interment will follow in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. Pallbearers will be Bert's son Mark; grandson Andrew; sons-in-law Bert and Ed; cousin Tony Lannone and family friend Andrew Nardella. Our family extends sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at H.S.C.-GD6 for their kind and compassionate care at this most difficult time. Flowers are graciously declined. Donations in Bert's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Rest in Peace Dear Dad
