MARIE GEORGINA MURRAY (PENNER) Marie Murray went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 1, 2011 at the age of 74. Marie was born in Osler, SK. September 3, 1936 to the late Katherine and John Penner. Throughout the years Marie also lived in Alberta before moving to Winnipeg in the early 1970s. Marie was predeceased by her loving husband Bill Murray in October of 1996. Marie will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Tamara (Mark) Stropko, her grandchildren, Zachary, Andrew, Anya and Elizabeth; her sister Agnes (Henry) Kroeger, and her brother Alfred (Rita) Penner and many nieces and nephews. Throughout the years Marie liked to travel, read, and paint but most of all spending time with her grandchildren who will miss her very much. Marie's trust in God brought her through the last 14 years since she was diagnosed in 1997 with Parkinsons. She was a great inspiration, never complaining and always took each stage with grace and trust. Marie lived her last few years at Golden West Lodge where she made some great friends. Thank you to the staff especially on the 4th floor for caring for Mom, it will never be forgotten. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, with reception to follow.
