Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHURCHILL HUDSON KLUMP It is with profound sorrow that we announce the unexpected death of our father Churchill Klump on Friday, April 29, 2011 at his residence at the age of 77 years.. Surviving Churchill are his children Ken (Brenda) Melanie and Travis, Cliff (Marlene) Amber, Chanel and Mackenzie, Brian (Linda) Breanne and Samantha, Kathy (Darren) Ashley, and Christopher and Bruce Klump; two great- grandchildren Ireland and Dawson Voort; brother Laurie Klump (Irene); sister Dolly Klump-McBroom (Mac) of Los Angeles; as well as by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Nellie; brother Bill Klump (Roberta) of Las Vegas and sister Laura Renolds (Al). Forever remembered by Vera Ash. Dad was born in Churchill, Manitoba on November 17, 1933 and had the distinction of being proclaimed Churchill's first white baby. After losing his father at a very young age, the family relocated to Poplarfield, Manitoba in 1937. They resided there for 14 years. After moving to Winnipeg, he met and married Vera Ash and they had five children. Mom and Dad were married for 40 years. For over 30 years Dad was a proud member of the City of Winnipeg Fire Department. Church loved the outdoors as he was an avid hunter and sportsman. He also spent many hours tending his garden. If you gave him a chainsaw, he would cut wood for days at a time. Dad loved sports, in particular baseball, as he coached his son Ken's ball teams. He was a fantastic cook and could make a gourmet meal out of leftovers. We are really going to miss him. He worked hard all his life to make sure his family was taken care of, often working two to three jobs at a time. On Saturday, May 7, 2011 a Celebration of Churchill's Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the ANAVETS #283 Hall, 3584 Portage Avenue with Winnipeg Fire Department Chaplain Mark Young, presider. The family would like to thank the Winnipeg Fire Department for all their help and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Churchill's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 200 310 Broadway Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6.
