Ivy was the daughter of Walter S. and Alice M. MacDonald of Winnipeg, Manitoba, widow of John Cathcart of Toronto, Ontario, sister to William MacDonald, Grace (MacDonald) Webb, Gladys (MacDonald) Wilson, Charles MacDonald, all now deceased. Ivy is survived by her sister Ethel (MacDonald) Olson of Brampton, Ontario and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Ivy moved to Toronto, Ontario in the 1940s and worked as a stenographer for large organizations like T.C.A. (now Air Canada) and the Government of Canada until retirement. She then moved back to her old hometown, Winnipeg, Manitoba for the rest of her years. Ivy was quite a fashionable lady in her time and was a favourite aunt to many nieces and nephews. Ivy's extended family is quite scattered around the country now but never-the-less many of us have very fond memories of Auntie Ivy . Thank you to the staff of Oakview Place for their care of Ivy especially to nurses Shannon and Lila. A private interment will take place on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel in care of the arrangements.
