Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARIA ZALESKA It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Maria Zaleska on May 4, 2011 at her residence. Left to cherish her memory is her son Wincenty (Jadwiga); her grandchildren, Iwona, Andrzej and Margret; her great-grandchildren, Mya, Parker and Sloane; sister Adele Szkwarek; niece Janina; and nephew Stanislaw. She was predeceased by her husband Wiktor. Maria was born on January 15, 1924 in Poland. She married Wiktor in 1940, shortly thereafter their son Wincenty was born. Maria moved to Canada in 1975. Maria retired from the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature in 1989 and spent most of her retirement with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and knitting. She will be forever missed. Her family would like to extend thanks to all the staff from Homecare who helped to take care of her. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with Rosary beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery, 4387 Main Street.
