RICHARD (RIC) HENRY JACKSON April 20, 1954 - May 1, 2011 After a short and courageous battle with cancer, we announce with deep sadness Ric's sudden passing at Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, May 1, 2011 with his beloved wife, Carol Marion (nee Schultz) at his side. Ric was predeceased by his parents, Florence and Charlie Jackson. Along with his wife, he will be lovingly remembered by his sister Carol Lynne and her partner Mel Bradshaw, sister Leslie Florence, mother-in-law Lillian Schultz, brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Barb Schultz, nephews, Curtis and Justin (fiancée Allison) and his wonderful extended family. A hole will be left in the lives of childhood friends, especially Bruce Jackson (honorary brother) and wife Malca. Ric was born in Toronto, Ontario and received his Science Degree specializing in Computer Science from the University of Western Ontario in 1977. His career led him from Toronto to Halifax and finally to Winnipeg, where he met the love of his life, Carol. They were married in 1994 and enjoyed every year of their life together until Ric's untimely death. Together, and with family, Ric and Carol travelled extensively. Ric formed his own computer business and revelled in the challenges and friendships developed with his loyal clients. His cheerful smile, hearty laugh, generous heart and engaging charm will be remembered always. Special thanks to family and friends, the Mason's Travel Service, Dr. Sisler and his team, and everyone at CancerCare Manitoba. Their support and caring made such a difference over the past few months. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Wednesday, May 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 637 Buckingham Rd., Winnipeg. Interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society - Transportation Services, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or to a charity of your choice.
