DORIS STAUB October 9, 1915 - May 5, 2011 It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Doris Staub on Thursday, May 5, 2011. Mom was born in Foam Lake, SK on October 9, 1915. Mom was one of 11 children born to Peter and Catherine Laniuk. As a young woman mom worked on the family farm, helping her parents. Mom met Albert Staub in Winnipeg and they were married on April 16, 1942. Mom worked at the Mardi Gras restaurant as a short order cook for many years, then she worked for the Winnipeg Post Office cafeteria till her retirement. She loved to cook and tend to her and dad's garden. Left to cherish Doris' memory are her son Frankie (Rosie), two daughters Jennifer and Kathy (Wes). She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jerry, Robert, Tracy, Trevor, Keith, Amber and Kristy, great-grandchildren Brandon, Kassandra, Kyle, David, Dawson, Brooke, Mirah and Kristopher; special nieces Gina (Dave) Low and Verna Lewandoski. Mom was predeceased by her husband Albert; parents Peter and Catherine; brothers Matt, Steve, Bill, John; sisters Ann, Lorna, Bella, Effie, Mary, Katie and son-in-law George. The family would like to thank all the staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home for the years of care they gave our mother. Special thanks to Michelle, Linda, Laurie, Tom and Robin for the special times you spent with our mother. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Mom's life will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in the Wheeler Funeral Chapel, 211 Regent Avenue West at 11:00 a.m. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
