JOSEPH HENRI PLOQUIN Joseph Henri Ploquin was born on May 26, 1935 in Vonda, Saskatchewan. He passed away peacefully May 6, 2011 at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba with his family at his side. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Maureen (Egan), son Thomas (Kimberly), and daughter Karen Barton (Jeffrey), his grandchildren Caitlin Preston (Nicholas), James and Thomas Barton, and Robyn and Danielle Ploquin, and brothers Frank and Laurent (Lynn) Ploquin. Joe was predeceased by his parents Henri and Emilie Ploquin, and sisters Marie Ploquin and Marguerite Linkletter. Joe served as a Flight Engineer in the Canadian Armed Forces for 38 years. After his retirement, he dedicated his time to his family and church. His passion included teaching Catechism to the children of his Parish and serving as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Funeral mass will be held at Blessed John XXIII Parish, 3390 Portage Ave., Winnipeg on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated by Father Gerald Langevin. Joe's family would like to offer a special thank you to the medical staff at the St. Boniface Emergency ward for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the St. Boniface Hospital Foundation. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.
