MARY FORSYTH A kind and generous heart peacefully stopped beating at the St. Boniface Hospital on May 7, 2011. Mary was born to Peter and Annie Polak in Winnipeg Beach. At a very early age she moved to Winnipeg and worked very hard well into her 80s. Her many friends still from childhood and later years through work and travel are evidence of her genuine concern of what a true friend should be. She will be greatly missed. Predeceased by her loving sister Kathleen (Zelinsky), brothers Johnny (Polak) and Albert Phillips, Mary is lovingly survived by her sister Jean Demetrioff; niece Marilyn Brown (Les); great-niece Marnie Brown (Norm) and great-nephew Lester Brown (Jen). A private family graveside service were her wishes. Donations to the Cancer Society in Mary's memory would be appreciated. We sincerely thank the palliative care staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their wonderful care and support given to Mary during her short stay. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I had the pleasure of working with Mary in the late seventies at Misericordia Hospital. Mary and I worked on the switchboard there together. Mary's sweet and generous soul was already going strong. Mary would always bring me a treat of pastries even though I was on a diet. After asking Mary not to worry about me that I was eating fine and not to bring in the pastries because I really couldn't eat them, she starting bringing me fruit instead. That's on my diet right! What a character she was! I contacted Mary and reconnected after seeing her on CBC. That was my Mary, a spitfire to the end. I was so proud of her, my only regret was that I didn't get to introduce her to my little boy who just turned two. Mary would have adored him. Mary, John has been waiting a long time for you to join him, rest in peace and joy my dear friend, rest in peace. With much Love and Affection your friend Jackie. - Posted by: Jackie Courteau (Friend and co-worker at Misericordia Hospital ) on: Mar 25, 2012
