Born in Grimaldi, Italy to loving parents, Assunta and Alberto, he relished rural life, developing his taste for gardening which would become a lifelong passion. In his teen years his aspirations turned to motorcycle racing. Immigrating to Wales, England in 1952, his new motorcycle became his pride and joy. In 1956 his family moved to Winnipeg to join family and friends. Luigi embraced this new life. In 1958 he met the love of his life Pina nee Carvelli, whom he wed on September 24, 1960. Never afraid of hard work Luigi and Pina together built an astounding partnership both professionally and personally. Luigi became an award winning hairstylist and successful business owner. Luigi was part horticulturist, inventor, handyman, winemaker and lover of animals and the outdoors. A devoted and loyal family man, Luigi was most proud of his three children and four grandchildren who brought him immense joy. Luigi and Pina also had an incredible 20 god children, a testament to their characters. Always a gentleman and kind beyond words, he was quiet yet full of knowledge, ready to share at just the right time, courteous and respectful, caring and generous to those less fortunate. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Pina, his children Alberto (Karen), Luigi Jr. (Bobby) and Susie (Kent), four beautiful grandchildren, Adam, Evan, Ethan and Aidan, brother Emilio (Karolyn), numerous cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews and an innumerable amount of loyal friends.
