KURT L. FLETT Kurt L. Flett was born in 1956 and raised in Garden Hill in the Island Lake area and passed away May 8, 2011. Kurt started drawing with pencil crayons around age 11. His early influences were Jackson Beardy and Stanley Monias. He taught for 10 years and moved to Winnipeg and was a full time artist for approximately 24 years. Kurt left his memories to cherish his common-law wife Marion Boulanger; son Jordan Brewer; special nephew Johnny; sisters Louise (Frank), Carol (Dennis), Rhoda (Larry); aunts Irene Birch, Charlotte (Stan) and Linda; numerous nieces, nephews and relatives. He was predeceased by parents Josias and Maria Flett, baby brother Gordon David Patterson Flett and Carol's twin sister. Kurt was a happy-go-lucky person who loved all walks of life and had many friends. He loved his music and art, his livelihood. He always had a smile or joke to share. Special thanks to family, Pastor Doug Harney and friends who helped support us during this loss. Services will be held at Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave. on Wednesday, May 11, 7:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m and Funeral service on Thursday, May 12 at 10:00 a.m. Burial at Aboriginal Memorial Gardens, 844 Symington Rd. off South Perimeter, turn North for two kilometers, 781-5414.
