Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAUDREY IOLA GABBS (nee Burnett) December 6, 1915 - May 5, 2011 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Audrey Iola Gabbs on May 5, 2001 at the age of 95 years. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Elwood (Carolyn), Kenneth (Ann) and Morley; her daughters, Marjorie, Darlene (Brian), Linda and May; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Burnett, Jean Potter, Denise Gabbs and Evelyn Gabbs; also numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Bill Gabbs, parents, George and Elizabeth Burnett; sons, Lloyd and Mervin; son-in-law, Brad Sixsmith; brothers, Garnet, Scott, Ernest, Gordon and Elwood; sisters, Margaret (Maggie) Bednarek, Violet Elliot, Pearl Anderson and Isabelle Dodds; sisters-in-law, Marjorie and Margaret; brothers-in-law, Keith and Bob; and by her grandson, Doug Gabbs. Mom lived most of her life in the Grahamdale area farming with her husband, Bill. She spent more time in the barn than in the house. Mom also enjoyed quilting, knitting, cooking, pickling, playing bingo and she especially loved gardening. She danced, and also taught her children. The time she spent babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was very dear to her. Mom enjoyed her retirement and loved to reminisce about many of life's experiences. She was a loving mother, who taught her children well and will always be loved and remembered. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grahamdale Community Hall with Jim Anderson officiating. Audrey will be laid to rest at the Grahamdale Cemetery.
