Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWALTER JOHN ROMANCHUK Suddenly, with family by his side, Walter John Romanchuk, formally of Teulon, Manitoba, passed away at the Swan River Valley Hospital on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the age of 79. He will be sadly missed by his loving and caring wife Olga of 52 years; son Terry (Kathleen); daughters Lovie (Andy) and Melodie (Dale); grandsons Kurtis, Travis, Marshall and Brett; sister Elsie; in-laws; numerous nieces and nephews; cousins; special friends and coffee buddies. Walter was born on September 5, 1931 to John and Anna (deceased) in Pleasant Home, Manitoba, where he was raised. He farmed on the family farm as well as being a dedicated long time employee for Red River Co-op in Teulon. In 1958, dad got a newspaper reporter bug covering their own wedding and continued writing for various newspapers until moving to Swan River in 2006. During retirement, dad was a very active member of the community as well as the Teulon Seniors' Club, organizing monthly meetings and various bus trips. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons and at the coffee shops getting the latest scoop. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to the nurses of the Palliative Care Unit of the Swan River Valley Hospital and Dana of Paull Funeral Home for their caring and professional manor they displayed during this emotional time which was so greatly needed and appreciated. In accordance with Dad's wishes, cremation took place in Swan River, Manitoba. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mackenzie Funeral Chapel in Teulon, Manitoba. Paull Funeral Home Crematorium was honoured to have served the family.
