ELISE C. SHROFEL 1918 - 2011 Peacefully, on May 6, 2011 at Kildonan Personal Care Home, Elise passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Elise was born on November 24, 1918 in Winnipeg. She married her best friend and soulmate Mathew in 1937. Together they celebrated 61 years of married life. Elise was predeceased by her husband Mathew, and her sisters Catherine, Margaret, Anne and brother Jack, and is survived by her family: Raymond and Carolyn, and Carolyn's children Jared, Jason, Michael and Judy and their children, Krystle, Michelle and Joshua; Randy and Ruth and their children Karin and Colin, and Paul and Sharada, along with in-laws Eleanor and John and nieces and nephews. Elise was a constant support to her husband and spent countless hours in community service, both political and social. Her main concern was the support and well-being of seniors in the community. Elise found her greatest joy in the lives of her sons and their families. The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Kildonan Personal Care Home. Mom considered you her extended family. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place along with a private family service at Glen Eden Cemetery.
