Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE HARRIET NEPLYK (nee WALKER) Peacefully, on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Concordia Hospital, Florence passed away. Mom was born on December 28, 1928 the third of seven children born to Caroline and Alfred Walker. Her family was her life and she will be so sadly missed by her husband Harry, children Terry (Dale), Wendy, and Russ; her grandchildren Porscha Kanellis (Lorren), Andrea (Gino), Tyler, and Morgan. Also survived by her brother John (Gladys) Walker of Winnipeg, and sisters Carol and Margaret of British Columbia and Alfreda of Wisconsin. She will also be missed by her extended family members and many friends. Mom grew up in Birds Hill and spent her early years on a mink ranch. When she moved to Winnipeg, Mom worked as an esthetician / hairdresser at Stabers, She was wed on November 18, 1950 to Harry. Mom worked part time for Eaton's, A W, the Tribune, and the Winnipeg Free Press. Once retired with Dad, they travelled to Arizona, Hawaii, Vancouver, and enjoyed many summers at Grand Beach and Winnipeg Beach with the grandchildren. She also enjoyed her morning swims at Concordia Pool when she taught them to swim. She was proud of her English heritage, followed the royal family closely and was able to watch the recent wedding of Will and Kate. She also enjoyed collecting spoons from either her own vacation or families and her stuffed bear collection was one of her other joys. She attended Grey Street United Church. The family would like to thank the second floor staff at Concordia Place for their excellent care of Mom and a special hug to Andrea for her tender care of her Grandma in her last hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Grey Street United Church or Concordia Place. A private family graveside service will take place on May 13, 2011 and a celebration of Mom's life will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Grey Street United Church, 651 Sandhurst Avenue, at 1:30 p.m. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE (204) 949-2200, nbardal.mb.ca
